BEFORE & AFTER CARE

BEFORE THE PROCEDURE:

  • Do not tweeze/wax/perform electrolysis or other hair removal one week before the procedure.

  • Do not tint brows three days prior to the procedure.

  • Do not tan two weeks before the procedure, or have a sunburned face.

  • Do not have any type of facial two weeks prior to the procedure.

  • Do not work out the day of the procedure.

  • Do not have botox 3-4 weeks prior to the procedure.

In order to avoid excessive bleeding and poor pigment retention:

  • Do not take Fish Oil or Vitamin E one week prior to the procedure (they are natural blood thinners)

  • Do not drink alcohol 24 - 48 hours before your tattoo.

  • Do not consume coffee on the day of your procedure until after your tattoo.

  • Do not take Aspirin or Ibuprofen at least 48 - 72 hours prior to your procedure (Tylenol or Acetaminophen is ok).

It is recommended that you shower and cleanse your hair if necessary before your procedure as you cannot wet your brows for seven days after your tattoo.

THE DAY OF THE PROCEDURE, AFTER YOUR TATTOO IS COMPLETE:

After the procedure, gently blot the area with a clean tissue to absorb excess lymph fluid. Do this every 15 minutes or so for the full day until oozing has stopped. Removing this fluid prevents hardening of the lymphatic fluids on your brows.

AFTER THE PROCEDURE:

  • MOISTURISE- Apply a rice grain amount of aftercare ointment with a cotton tip and spread it across the treated area. Be sure not to over-apply, as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing. The ointment should be barely noticeable on the skin. NEVER put the ointment on a wet or damp tattoo. Do this for at least the first 7 days, once a day.

  • DO NOT get your brows wet for the first 7 days.

  • Avoid face down swimming or hot tubs for at least the first 10 days.

  • Avoid long, steamy showers for the first 10 days.

  • Don’t apply makeup or sunscreen to the area for the first 10 days.

  • Use a fresh, clean pillowcase.

  • Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away. Picking can cause scarring or loss of colour.

  • No facials, botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks.

  • Avoid hot, sweaty exercise for one week.

  • Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks after the procedure. Wear a hat when outdoors.

  • Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days.

  • DO NOT rub, pick or scratch the treated area.

  • If you are breastfeeding, wait for at least 24 hours after the procedure.
